Program Details

We offer three categories of classes-  Individual Licensing Classes, our Flight Instructor Program, and add-on Licensing programs for current pilots.

Individual License Programs

  • Private Pilot Certificate
    This program is designed for the student who has little or no flight time and wishes to obtain a Private Pilot Certificate with Rotorcraft Rating. A Private Pilot Certificate is similar to a driver’s license; it allows the pilot to fly for recreation with or without passengers and to share operating expenses with them, but prohibits the pilot from conducting flights for compensation or hire.

  • Commercial Pilot Helicopter
    This program is designed for the student who has a Private Pilot Certificate with Rotorcraft Rating and wishes to obtain a Commercial Helicopter Pilot Certificate. A Commercial Pilot Certificate allows you to conduct flights for compensation or hire. It is recommended that students take the Certified Flight Instructor Program in addition to this one. This is to maximize employment opportunities; most often a pilot’s first job is as a flight instructor.

  • Certified Flight Instructor
    This program is designed for the student who has a Commercial Pilot Certificate with Rotorcraft Rating and wishes to obtain a Flight Instructor Certificate. A Flight Instructor Certificate allows a pilot to give flight instruction and endorse the logbook of others. This program is highly recommended to maximize employment opportunities; most often a pilot’s first job is as a flight instructor.

Comprehensive Programs

  • Professional Pilot Program
    Alyeska Helicopters Professional Pilot Program is for individuals interested in pursuing a career as a professional helicopter pilot. This program is designed to maximize employment opportunities for the graduate. It brings the student from Private to Commercial Pilot to Certified Flight Instructor. The Flight Instructor Certificate gives the pilot the chance to build the necessary flight time most major helicopter operators require.

Add-On License Programs

    This program is designed for the student who has a Private Pilot Certificate with Airplane Rating and wishes to add a Rotorcraft Rating to that Certificate. A Private Pilot Certificate allows the pilot to fly for recreation with or without passengers and to share operating expenses with them, but prohibits the pilot from conducting flights for compensation or hire.

  • Commercial Pilot Add-On
    This program is designed for the student who has a Commercial Pilot Certificate with Airplane Rating and wishes to add a Rotorcraft Rating to that Certificate. Corporate flight departments often prefer dual rated pilots, making this a very popular program.
